UNCERTAIN MEDICS - ZOOMCAST

Dr Addy has started his brand new ‘ZoomCast’ (a podcast filmed over Zoom) called ‘UNCERTAIN MEDICS’

Addy has had the privilege of meeting numerous healthcare professionals over the years in the creative industry, and is constantly inspired by their journeys along the untrodden path of ‘the creative medic’. With each episode Addy has a frank and open conversation with a healthcare professional as they reflect on their own journeys amidst these uncertain times. Have a listen below!

In this episode I speak to the charismatic Dr Yusef Smith, hearing all about his journey into healthcare from the finance industry, his business venture Propane Fitness, and his advice for future clinicians seeking an active side hustle. One of my fave episodes for sure!

In our first episode after a (covid) hiatus, I speak to the fascinating Dr Hillary Duenas, psychiatrist, scientist, and filmmaker. We talk about her experiences on the frontline in New York during the covid epidemic, and I even manage to squeeze in my own career advice. Not to be missed!

In this episode I speak to brilliant Nadia Kamil, established writer, actor and comedian, now on her journey to become a doctor in amidst a global pandemic. We talk about our parallel journeys in opposite directions, and what drew her to medicine. Check it out - it’s a cracker!!

In episode 5, I speak the fabulous Dr Georgie Leslie. Georgie is both an actress and Obstretics & Gynaecology doctor. We crossed paths on social media (as most connections are these days), and aside from hearing about her unique journey, I interrogate Georgie about her balance between being a doctor and creative, as a method of insight for my own next steps. Have a listen!

In episode 4, I speak to the ever charismatic Dr Parvinder Shergill, a psychiatrist, writer & filmmaker, and the person behind ‘The Secret Psychiatrist’. I first met Parvinder when she invited me as a guest on her radio show, and we’ve been collaborating on film projects ever since! We chat…all sorts.

In episode 3, I speak to the amazing Dr Rosie Riley, founder and CEO of VITA Training, a major force in the battle against Modern Slavery in the UK and beyond. We talk about career pathways during these uncertain times.

In episode 2, I talk to the fascinating Dr Samir Shah, consultant neuropsychiatrist at Waltham Forest. I met Samir on the NHS England Clinical Entrepreneur programme. Samir discusses his current entrepreneurial activities and how it fits in with the current pandemic.

In our pilot episode we speak the brilliant Dr Amal Lad, who is both a GP trainee and musician.
